Let there be air! (Or at least fans 😃)
We battled through the heat of the Ecuadorian summer, even with classes starting at 8 am, but soon decided that another donation to the Community Center was in order. Thanks to all of the students participating in our vacation program, Trifecta Arts was able to purchase fans for our rehearsal space. The funds provided three wall-mounted fans to cool down the dance space and the community matched that action with an additional three fans to accommodate the entire building.
They say it takes a village….so here’s a Big Thank You (Muchas Gracias!) to Mike Becker for helping with the search, Shell Spivey for driving me around Guayaquil to track down enough fans, Kate Nelson for spending her valuable time translating for me, and the trio of Aquino men (Juan – maestro, Augusto – assistant, and Alex – apprentice) for the installation!
