Anne Koho, the founder of Trifecta Arts, went the extra mile—literally—traveling over 10,000 miles for the second time to hook up 108 students at The Moriah School in Guntur, India, with some free classical ballet training.
For two weeks straight after a fun-filled week of Jazz Dance classes, these kids dived headfirst into daily classical ballet sessions led by Anne Koho herself. While only the 10th-grade girls had brushed shoulders with Miss Anne back in 2018, all the students were stoked to shake off their academic stress and get moving. And let’s give it up for these kids—in a country where artsy stuff isn’t ever part of the school grind, these ballet classes were like a breath of fresh air for their creative souls.
To wrap up the experience, they snapped some group pics on the final day, sealing the deal on the memories they made together.
Now, The Moriah School isn’t your ordinary school in India — it’s a private accredited academic institution and also houses some kids who’ve lost a parent and need a stable home and schooling. They’re all about giving quality education (from pre-school to Grade 10) to kids who need it most, thanks in part to some big-hearted donors from the US.
And this whole shebang wasn’t a one-time deal—it’s part of the Moriah Dance Project, which kicked off back in 2017. Sophie Dale, whose grandmother founded The Moriah School, got the ball rolling on this awesome initiative.(https://moriahchildren.com/initiatives/moriah-dance-project)
